Sometimes I wonder why there is such a black discord between my family and the rest of the clan.  Only recently did it occur to me that it could have something to do with the fact that my family is Christian.  The rest of the clan consists fully of Shaman believers.  It helps explains why we grew up so isolated from the rest of the clan and can explain the chilling animosity I feel from them.  I think nearly all the Hmong clans have converted to Christianity by this point, although I hear in whispers that the Yang clan has been the most stubborn in refusing to convert.

The elders will never talk about it. It, meaning anything to do with the past.  I get it though, sometimes it’s better to let the sleeping dog lie.

Snow is comin’ round again.  Don’t hate me, but I’m OK with that.  It’s the upcoming sticky humid summer I’m not so keen about.
